The Indian Industry faces its biggest challenge ever due to the shortage of talented and knowledge workers, across Industries and sectors. Furthermore it is compounded by the fact that only a small fraction of management graduates are actually employable.

We realize our responsibility in enhancing employability of our graduates. Business students need to have onsite practical experiences in real work environment that will enhance their learning and understanding. Towards this, management teaching at VIM reflects ground-level realities in Indian businesses. Innovative pedagogical tools and practical learning methodologies are the key features of our pedagogy. Our faculty has a dialogue with industry through consulting and training assignments.

Additionally, there is a continued focus on the developing soft skills like interpersonal communication, managing conflicts and negotiations. An increasing focus on developing an entrepreneurial mindset is also in place. We groom the students to learn everything in an interdisciplinary manner. Faculty competency development for bettering the academic standards remains a strategic focus area for the institute.

Moreover, traditional management education focused merely on pay packages has contributed to a moral crisis. It has been found wanting in preparing B-School students for coping with the responsible leadership challenges and ethical dilemmas that face managers in contemporary corporations and society. MBA Programme Overview:
The syllabus of the MBA program and the program structure is prescribed by University of Pune.

MBA is divided into four semesters. The first year has two semesters with eight subjects each which are compulsory for all students. The second year too has two semesters and during these semesters students have to opt for any one specialization of their choice.

Each student undergoes an industrial training for a period of not less than 50 days during the vacation at the end of first year. The project so taken up by the student is assessed by an internal assessors appointed by the Institute and also by an external panel appointed by the University of Pune.

Admission Process
Admission to the MBA programme is done through a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) every year.

The process is three tier & comprises of
• Common Entrance Test (CAT, CMAT or any other entrance exam accepted by DTE)
CMAT is a multiple-choice objective test evaluating the aptitude of the student in various areas like verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, logic, visual reasoning, reading comprehension and data interpretation.

The admission process is based on Common Entrance Test (CAT, CMAT or other entrance exams accepted by DTE)

Admission Process At a Glance :

Step 1: Entrance Exam

Apply for CMAT September 2013 or February 2014 / CAT 2013 or XAT 2014 or MAT Sept/Dec 2013 or ATMA test at your nearest center.

Step 2: Registration for Group Discussion & Personal Interview

Register with DTE, Government of Maharashtra ( for GDPI Visit VIM to register online for DTE – GD PI.

Step 3:Appear for Group Discussion & Personal Interview

Participate in Group Discussion at the designated GDPI Venue and Time as chosen and allotted to you. Candidates are assessed for their GD performance. Obtain a minimum threshold score for Personal Interview. Attend Personal Interview. Complete the GDPI Process.

Step 4:Apply to VIM

Apply to VIM online through website; giving your graduation and CMAT/CAT/ XAT/ /MAT /ATMA registration details for institute level seats.

Step 5:Announcement of FINAL SCORE

Announcement of final results by DTE on the basis of overall marks scored from various parameters (Entrance Test + GD + PI).

Step 6:Submit Online Choices to DTE

Acceptance of the selection offer.
Payment of fees within stipulated datelines.
Submission of documents

Reporting to VIM on Scheduled date to join MBA 2014
